George Lopez Latest Looks Unrecognizable in Playful New Video
George Lopez Latest Looks Unrecognizable appeared to be feeling playful when he stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show to talk about his forthcoming—and final—comedy special.
In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, Feb. 13, the 63-year-old danced out of a dressing room as he headed toward the spot where host Jennifer Hudson waited. He was surrounded by people singing to the tune of “Low Rider,” the War song that served as the opening theme of his popular George Lopez sitcom in the early 2000s, and clapping as they urged him along.

The comedian seemed to thrive in the spotlight as he waved his arms, shook his long gray hair and twirled for the camera. Though he was nearly unrecognizable compared to the character viewers likely think of when they hear the sitcom’s theme, he flashed the same smile his fans know well after his nearly five-decade career.

“Somehow, Low Rider is the perfect song for this 😂,” one fan observed in response to the video.
Many people wrote in to express surprise at Lopez’s appearance, with some suggesting he looked like Cheech Marin, Albert Einstein and Frederick Douglass.
“I love George this had me cracking up he’s still funny god bless ❤️,” another fan wrote.

“Ain’t no way that’s George,” one Instagram user wrote as another asked, “Did he just come from under a rock?”
“Almost didn’t recognize him with the long hair. ❤️🔥,” a third Instagram user commented.
Once he made it onto The Jennifer Hudson Show’s set, the Lopez vs Lopez star talked about his upcoming special, Muy Católico, premiering on Prime Video on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The special was filmed in September 2024 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.
“I decided it’ll be the last one, I think, because I think it’s a really good one,” Lopez explained to the show’s live audience.
When Hudson asked if Lopez plans to retire, he said he will do so “in the next couple of years.” However, he later clarified that he does want to hit 50 years in the business, which he said would mean retiring in 2029.
