It’s essential to note that while PET is a mandatory test for all candidates, it is of qualifying nature, and no marks are awarded. The criteria for the PET include specific requirements for the 1600 meters run, 800 meters run, long jump, and high jump. These criteria differ between male and female candidates, and they are as follows:

This crucial step involves a thorough examination of candidates’ documents to ensure their authenticity.

In situations where two or more candidates achieve a tie or secure the same marks, their merit position will be determined using an age-based criterion. The older candidate will be given priority based on seniority.

It’s essential to understand that the final appointment of selected candidates is contingent upon several factors. This includes passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test, which will be conducted by the Railway Administration, as well as the final verification of educational and category certificates. Additionally, a verification of the character and antecedents of the candidates will be conducted by the local Administration. Successful completion of initial training is also a important requirement for candidates to secure their positions.
